natural burial grounds
Coffins and Shrouds
In order for the nature reserve to thrive, we wish to accept only biodegradable and environmentally-friendly coffins. A growing selection of beautifully crafted coffins is available through us or your funeral director. These range from the wholly affordable to very elaborate and ornate luxury products.
These include coffins made of wicker, bamboo, recycled paper and board. They are coffins made without the use of unnecessary bolts, screws, toxic glues and varnishes.
For those who wish, or where religious traditions require it, we are more than happy for someone to be interred in the beautiful simplicity of a shroud.
Companies listed here are a selection of what is available. A good funeral director will be able to find these for you. Some of these companies only deal with funeral directors, not selling to the public. All will provide infant, baby and child sized coffins and most sell urns for cremated remains.
