natural burial grounds

Long Term Security

A Nature Rerserve Burial Grounds site is protected by a 100 year lease. This does not allow anything to happen on that site other than the creation of a burial ground and a nature reserve, for the entirety of that one hundred years.

Yew BerriesAt the end of that century, the nature reserve will be established, and protected as such.

Furthermore, a percentage of every grave plot sold on a Nature Reserve Burial Grounds site is placed into a trust. This accumulated fund will remain as a trust until the burial ground is declared full, and therefore loses its direct source of income.

At this point, a site may be handed over to an established local wildlife trust, together with the funding accumulated in its own trust.

So is the future of any Nature Reserve Burial Grounds site thoroughly secured.
