The Burial Areas

Sun Rising Natural Burial Ground is gently developing into an organic patchwork - made up of meadows of wildflowers and grasses with copses of native woodland. This is all part of the process of creating a successful nature reserve, rich in flora and fauna, and beneficial not only the burial ground itself but to the wider environment.

It is possible to be buried in both these areas; in the woodland area you have the option of a tree planted on the grave and a slate plaque like the one pictured here. See our pages on meadow burial and woodland burial.

It is also possible to inter cremated remains at Sun Rising, in meadow or woodland areas, or beneath an English oak.
