The Roundhouse

Our Roundhouse is an octagonal building in the middle of the burial ground, designed to be a beautiful space for a funeral or memorial service. At other times it is a place to sit in quiet and reflection, to take in the tranquility and beauty.

Built of local Cotswold stone, with green oak beams and oak seats laid upon the low stone walls. The roof is a 'green roof', planted with sedums that will blaze as a soft red through the summer's dry, and flush again into green through the winter.

Construction finished in June 2007 and the building still looks a little new. In the autumn, roses and other climbers will be planted, wild flowers sown around its base. We also have here a page of photographs of its construction.
